I'd forgotten how fun Paris can be in the winter. From the food, to christmas lights, to the biggest indoor ice-rink in the world, Paris is the perfect place to celebrate!
A few fun things to do in Paris:
Handroll Sushi Doki Doki
During my time in Paris, there are a few things I never miss: a delicious tartare, a freshly baked pain au chocolat, and some exceptional Asian cuisine. On one occasion, before heading to the Grand Palais for ice-skating, my friend and I decided to stop by Doki Doki, a cozy spot known for its hand-roll sushi. If you're planning to visit, be sure to make a reservation in advance, as spots tend to fill up quickly.
The handroll sushi at Doki Doki is nothing short of extraordinary. The fish is incredibly fresh, and each hand-roll is expertly crafted, with the algae adding a satisfying crunch that perfectly complements the delicate flavors of the fish. It’s a must-try for anyone craving authentic and high-quality sushi in the heart of Paris. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or just looking for a great meal, I highly recommend this spot—it’s a hidden gem that adds a flavorful touch to any Parisian adventure.
Grand Palais Ice Skating: A Must-See Experience!
Don't miss the chance to skate at the world’s largest indoor ice-skating rink, open until January 9, 2025! While you should be prepared for a wait of 1 to 2 hours and a crowded rink, the breathtaking ambiance makes it all worthwhile. I attended the late-night session (8:00 PM to 2:00 AM), which featured a live DJ, adding an electrifying vibe to an already magical experience.
Walk around & see the lights
This year, Paris truly outdid itself with its Christmas decorations, transforming the city into a dazzling winter wonderland. The streets are lined with twinkling lights, elegant garlands, and festive displays that bring a magical atmosphere to every corner. Iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame sparkle even brighter with holiday illuminations, while neighborhoods like Champs-Élysées and Le Marais feature breathtaking light installations that draw both locals and tourists.

4. Clubbing!
Paris has an electrifying nightlife, and during my short visit, I had my first taste of it. Make sure to do your research to find the perfect spot for you.
My friend and I started our evening at Le Fitzroy at Bastille, a trendy bar with a lively dance floor and a talented DJ spinning tunes. The atmosphere was vibrant and perfect for setting the mood for the night. Whether you're looking to kick things off or spend the entire evening there, Le Fitzroy is an excellent choice.

Directly across the street is Pachamama, a striking four-story club with a unique ambiance and beautifully decorated interiors. The crowd is young, and the music tends to lean towards commercial hits, which may appeal to some. However, I found the rapid transitions between tracks and the occasional repetition a bit off-putting, which took away from the overall experience. It’s also important to note that Pachamama can be strict at the door, so be sure to dress appropriately and maintain a good balance between guys and girls in your group. Despite these few drawbacks, the pulsating beats and energetic atmosphere still made for an enjoyable night. Entry is €20, which includes a drink—a great deal for a night in one of Paris’s most iconic clubs. Whether you’re hopping between venues or choosing to stay in one spot, Parisian nightlife offers something for everyone.
That's it for now! Till next time. Next stop- The Dominican Republic
