What's something you've been meaning to do?

Boat labeled "Niagara City Cruises" carries passengers in red ponchos through turbulent blue waters, evoking a sense of adventure.

Think about something achievable, something you have been meaning to do. We all have that one thing sitting quietly on our wish list or to-do list, waiting for us to finally make time for it. Maybe it has been there for weeks, months, or even years. We often come up with reasons or excuses for why we have not done it yet. Life gets busy, timing never feels perfect, or we convince ourselves we are not quite ready. But deep down, we know that taking even one small step toward it could shift something inside us. Sometimes, the hardest part is just deciding to do it.

Today, I was able to do this. For some context, this is going to be my fourth and final year living in Upstate New York for college. Being a senior has naturally brought a wave of reflection about how much I have grown since the first time I stepped onto campus. It is strange to look back and see how much has changed and what hasn't. There is a bittersweet awareness that time moves quickly, and with it has come a new sense of urgency. This whole time (besides being abroad of course) I've lived only two hours away from Niagara Falls. One of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the world, where the water cascades powerfully between the United States and Canada. Despite being so close, I had never taken the trip to see it. Before yesterday, I had never been to Canada at all.

What makes this even stranger is that traveling and exploring as many countries as I possibly can has been a growing part of my personal mission. It feels almost ironic that, for someone who dreams of seeing the world, I had overlooked a country practically next door. This overnight trip barely required any planning, only for me to jump in the car and drive. That's all.

So, I hope you enjoy these pictures I've taken from Niagara Falls, and that I've inspired someone from taking that leap of faith to do something they've always wanted to do. However small that is.
